I bought this because I truly started hating my car as a result of the consistently stuck
knob. I honestly can't fix ANYTHING but apparently, neither can Volvo because every
time I asked them to fix my button, they just put some grease in there as a temporary
solution. Thus, I figured I'd do something more radical by buying a whole new knob
and fix it myself (despite my incompetence at even the smallest of repairs). Well, the
installation was pretty straightforward and frankly, the knob is now good as new (the
old one had cracks at the bottom) and it never ever gets stuck anymore. Not only that,
but if ever it got stuck again, I have the confidence to fix it myself. Thanks!

i dont know why it took me so long to replace it on my 2000 s70 t5. this was pretty simple to replace. just follow the instructions and you'll have no problem. i did find that if you rock the shifter front to back instead of trying to twist it loose it comes off really easy. well worth the money because it was very annoying to try and pry out the button when i parked the car. thanks a million IPD!

I had been driving around for 4 yrs with a broken shift knob. I would painstakingly explain to the valet attendents how to work the broken knob. I refused to give in the ridiculous dealer cost for replacing the shifter and then finally I got to my breaking point. I decided to google for the part before heading to the dealer and I came across ipd. The instructions were very thorough with great pictures as well. I installed the piece in about 15 minutes and I can't stop smiling every time i put my car in park and remove the keys with ease.

Note to peoples: the instructions did not mention to watch that the leather shift wrap
be gently pulled down. When I pulled up as per instructions, my leather came with it,
along with all the surrounding parts it took me hours to try to get them back, and then
the light was burnt out. Our Volvo repair place fixed it for $50. note: turns out the
clips (that hold down these parts) were also damaged, will take $200 to replace.
I do not say this to say it is a bad part, to be honest it was Fab. & Easy to replace,
just more as a cautionary note.

I found it much easier to remove the shift knob than the instructions led you to believe. The button and spring installed easily and now the shifter feels like new. It always engages park now and doesn't "lock" the keys in the ignition any more.

man feels like brand new. old one was cracked and kept sticking. shifter came off real easy, not like expected. only thing is when put back on the light for gear selector went out. dont know if bulb burned out, or the shifter caused it??????have to check.
