When changing the clutch, it's the best time to check and replace worn or missing parts. Check the: return spring (on those models that have them), the hydraulic or cable parts that activate the clutch, and the release fork. If these pieces aren't working properly, you new clutch won't either.

Ring gears don't wear out very often, but when they do there is no substitute for a new replacement. These require professional installation.
