This filter manufactured by Mann® grabbed the number one slot. Mann is the original supplier of oil filters to Volvo.
Mann filters are one of the few on the market that have a "check valve" that reduces the amount of oil that drains back in to the sump when the engine is shut off. The helps supply oil to top areas of the engine faster on cold starts.

Top Notch. These are the only filters that should ever be allowed on a Volvo. I have had several 240's and these are without question the best filter to use. If you want Volvo written on the side of a filter then you can pay an extra $10.. otherwise just get these and the brass drain plug bushings and you will keep running and running and running. I have 188K on mine and it purrrrrs with this simple, required and quality product.

This is the only Oil Filter I have used since I found out about them, and my 200 DL only has 327,000 miles on it (engine never opened up).

These filters will make a HUGE difference in the life of your engine. They are the ONLY filter I've found that the "anti-drain back valve" doesn't fail within 2000 miles of use. These filters are a "must have" for any newer volvo with hydraulic lifters!
