My C30 is still new, only 3000+ miles; what a fun car!!

My first (of what will be many) upgrade was the rear anti-sway bar. Simple to install. About 90 mins start to finish. The biggest problem is trying to figure out what to do with the old bar! Follow the directions and it's a no-brainer.

When shopping around, don't be fooled by the '22mm' size. The set up also changes the geometry of the bar.

I've not yet had the opportunity to test the new bar on high speed sweepers; but at 30-60 mph on twisty back roads the difference is obvious and a nice surprise! Turn in is more percise and the car follows the line better, even with mid-corner throttle changes! And there is no change in the ride!

A great, effective, easy and relatively inexpensive upgrade!

First things first, this is a great product, the bar itself, the bushings that come with it, all the hardware, everything. Top notch stuff. Install took 1-1.5 hours max, easily done by anybody with basic mechanical skills.

After I finished, I took the car out for a test drive, and I must say that the difference is noticeable right away. I own a 2005 S40 T5 AWD, the handling after the bar was installed, changed dramatically. The car wants to turn in more, it stays flatter during cornering. And now, when power is applied during a turn, instead of a slight plowing from the front end, the rear feels as if it wants to break loose a little bit. Almost a slight oversteer. Its very nice, I feel much more in control now when cornering, or avoiding other cars.

If you want to change the handling of your car, for the better, definitely consider this mod. Great product all around!

Just increase my smiles per mile with.... my new ipd sway bar. Had my local dealer install it on my c30 V1.0 - and can say it made a Significant (note capital "S") improvement in the handling department. We aren't talking just a small improvement... by seat of the pants feel...it's a noticeable improvement. There is a round-a-bout I need to go through every day - and my first thought after the install was, "Hey, I don't remember having the steering wheel rotated this far before!" Much, much flatter in the turns.

Install took about 90 minutes - I even brought a couple of photos from a few of the forums out there which helped my guy out tremendously. One of those, "a picture is worth a thousand words".

The real litmus test was last night when my wife and I went out to dinner. When she originally saw the box, I got the whole eye roll routine. I think the comment went something like, "Sway bar? Why are you putting a wing on the back of the car?". Rounding a bend last night, she commented, "Gee - it really does handle better!". Yup.

First rate quality and definitely needs to be on your must have list. Missed out on the whole group buy thing (paid retail).. but now am eyeing the H&R sport springs so maybe idp will give me a break!

So if you are on the fence about the ipd sway bar, get off, and place your order today. Great quality, great product and works as advertised. Great job ipd!

Good bang for the buck upgrade! The difference between the stock and ipd bar was noticeable right away on my C30 (ver. 2 with dynamic suspension). The rear end feels tighter in the curves... less body roll. I'd say put this at the top of your mods/upgrades list especially if you have a S40/C30 without the dynamic suspension (smaller sway bar?). The difference will be night and day. Thanks, iPd... and if you make a slightly larger diameter (>25mm or larger) sway bar for the C30, I'd be the first to buy it as well! Good product.

Total time from parking the car to driving it with the new bar; 2.5 hours.
The IPD directions could use the following to make sure the amateur installer (me) can complete the install;
Recommend a socket set from 12MM to 18MM as the bolts on my car did not follow the bolt sizes outlined in the directions.
Instead of a metric allen wrench set I used the allen wrench set for my bicycle.
Include a recommendation for a wire brush to get the crude off the old bolts and out of the factory allen wrench socket.
Use car ramps to hold up the car.
IPD, please tell the user the poly bushings that hold the sway bar to the car frame are designed to break open and slip over the bar, both were precut and when squeezed slightly cracked open for easy insertion over the sway bar.
There was (is) no hints on how tight the new bolts should be. I used a torque wrench to loosen the bolts from the factory u-clamp that holds the sway bar and it was about 20 ft. lbs to crack the old bolts. On the poly bushings connecting to the suspension link you need to feel the tightness and tighten until the bushings just bulge, and no more.
Also make a note that the poly bushings may not initially line up correctly and that they will settle into the cupped washers after some initial road time. I worked like mad to get them to seat right the first time and after conversing with IPD they assured me they would settle in.
Last, the new sway bar is well worth the money, definitely make this upgrade.
