Lower Chassis Brace Did you know that the optional “Sport Suspension” available on some models here in the U.S. is usually the standard suspension in Europe?
If you live where the roads are in good shape and you enjoy a good handling car, you'll appreciate the reduction in body flex and increased turn-in accuracy this brace provides.
This kit includes brace, hardware and simple instructions for installation into pre-existing holes in the body (takes about 15 minutes). Brace connects the front sections of the unibody and crosses just beneath the transmission bell housing. Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle. Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations. The products listed on our website are for Volvos sold in the North American market. Many of the parts are exactly the same as those used in other markets, however we cannot guarantee fitment for those markets.

I installed this lower brace on my 1991 740 turbo wagon. The car already had Bilstein HD struts/shocks and the new IPD lowering springs. This brace did wonders for the front end of my car! The car takes bumps in a much more composed manner than before, and it really likes to "turn in" now. Definitely more fun in the corners. Well worth the small amount of money it costs!

Adding this brace took some of the body roll out of my 745Ti. The change was not drastic, but when one considers how inexpensive and easy to install this brace is, it's amazing.

UNBELIEVABLE is the only word that comes to mind. This one simple upgrade made all the difference in my 89 740 Turbo Wagon. This combined with the New Rear Bilstein Tourings and the car felt totally improved.

There are several suspension modifications that I routinely make to 700-900 cars that I plan to keep for a while and this brace is always one of them. I have a 940 turbo wagon and even after poly strut rod bushings (cone bushings), I still had a slight shimmy on braking, probably due to a worn strut-rod-to-chassis bushing on one side. After installing the brace, the shimmy was unnoticeable/gone even with the aforementioned worn bushing on one side.
