Bushing Kits Front 700 and 900 series models suffer from an inherent front suspension problem related to the cone-shaped control arm stay bushings. As the bushing weakens, it allows the lower strut assembly and wheel to move a considerable amount, altering the front-end alignment. This allows the strut assembly to shudder under brake loads and decreases handling stability. Over the years, we’ve experimented with several different polyurethane formulations in this bushing and have developed a good replacement that improves the performance and life expectancy without adding undue harshness or vibration.

Got this kit in the mail and the very next day I was at work on the car! Had to run into
work to press in all of the bushings, it was a lot easier than I thought! (easy as long
as you have access to a 20 ton hydraulic press!) Reinstalled everything and went for a
test drive, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! No more steering wheel shudder!!! I would
definitely recommend this kit for your high mileage 940!!!!

My bushings were worn out, I could move the right wheel about 2" forward and backward. The kit was complete and the directions were clear and accurate. I used a six-point 7/8 socket instead of a 22mm and it was a good fit. No problems doing the job, I had it done in less than an hour. The test drive was wonderful, no looseness in the steering and no shudder when coming to a stop. A highly recommended fix to any RWD volvo!

1995 VOLVO 940 WAGON NON-TURBO
after replacing front end rotors, calipers / brakes and adding a set of KYB struts my car still didnt have the front end control I was looking for. I continued to get a bit of play in the horizontal plane that was accompanied by a metal on metal clank with hard breaking. after doing a bit of research I found out that the bushings on the 940's are well known to fail and cause lose of control in the horizontal plane when braking. after consulting with my Volvo tech, I decided to go with the this kit, and threw in a set of univeral links that sit on the control arm. the result was more than i expected. not only does my brick handle with greater responsiveness, the sure feel of front end feels as though new! I am amazed at how well this kit enhances the overall front end performance. gone are metal on metal sounds as well as horizontal plane sway. I would recommend you become familiar with insertion points of individual pieces as a lift and machine press for the bushings are a necessity (dont try this in yr drive way without these!) and your local mechanic may need some coaching on placement. if your Volvo is over 100k, dont even think about not doing this service. Volvo should list this as a highly recommended maintenance service at 100k for all 940's! once again IPD's component pieces are exceptional performers !

I got this kit and knew that i would most likely have to get the other bushings pressed out but i installed the poly control arm bushings and it made a huge difference on the tightness of the suspension. I felt that the other bushings were okay for now but i cant even imagine what it will drive like with the others installed. Thanks ipd once again for the excellent products.

Exactly what I needed!!! Had some noticeable clunking & creaking in the front end of my 94' 960 sedan. Also a hard knock in hard turns or hard braking. New bushings eliminated all play in the strut rod and is noticeably tighter in the steering. No more noise!! That is also with no other upgrades except for Bilstein touring shocks. Biggest plus was only took less than an hour!

The skill level rating displayed to install these is accurate, yet not sufficient. I had no problems getting the arms out, but could not get the bushings out. Had to take them to my mechanic and have them pressed out with a 50 ton press!
Now that they are in, my front end is tight as a drum!
I was also hoping to have some directions in the box.
Great product, great price.
