Sport Springs by IPD
Sport springs, or lowering springs as they are often called improve the handling by lowering the center of gravity and reducing body movement with an increased spring rate (stiffer.) Sport springs also increase firmness more than any other component, so keep these attributes in mind when considering this upgrade.
The other use of sport springs is to attain a low aggressive look that sets your car apart from the masses with a sporty low profile. ipd sport springs will lower your Volvo approximately 1.65" to 1.75" and the spring rate is increased approximately 20%.
*Knowing the ride height of your volvo before and after making modifications is important. Here's how we do it:
- Place your car on a smooth level flat surface, such as a parking lot or garage floor.
- Measure vertically from the center of the wheel to the center of the the wheel opening as show in the picture on the right to eliminate variations due to tire and wheel sizes. Do this at all four corners of the car and record your measurements.
- After installing lowering coils measure again and record the results.
Typically a 3/8" to 1/2" difference side to side is acceptable. If you find that your car is out of this spec, you should check to make sure the springs are properly seated and other parts of the car such as suspension bushings are not the cause. Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle. Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations. The products listed on our website are for Volvos sold in the North American market. Many of the parts are exactly the same as those used in other markets, however we cannot guarantee fitment for those markets.

Now, although I've driven lowered vehicles previously, this is the first time I've changed the suspension components on my own car and I must say, the difference is superb! Not only do these springs have a great look to them, They created a new vehicle out of my 850 n/a. Paired with Bilstein Touring Struts/Shocks, They dramatically improved cornering, made my steering stiffer and more responsive, and significantly decreased the body roll when coming out of a corner-not to mention the more aggressively appearing stance of my brick as it's sitting lower. All I could ask for and more with this Ipd product. Thank You!

I love these springs. Handling has increased dramatically and though it's a bit choppy with the stock dampers they are truly exceptional. I have 18x7.5 velocity wheels with 235/50R 18 tires. These tires are too wide and have less than 1mm of distance between them and the fender liner. My mistake. 215/50 18's would be as wide as you want to go. :) IPD is the shizzznit!

I fell in love with these springs the minute I drove the car out of the shop. The look
with them is amazing, the fender sits just above the tire, I think they look much better
than eibach springs did on the same car. The handling is great, the car is so planted,
and it doesn't float when you drive over a crest. The ride comfort is sacrificed a small
amount, but I love how it rides even with this car being my daily driver, smooth yet
firm and it doesn't rattle you out of the car on the interstate. A+ job to ipd, I would
definitely refer these to a friend.

Incredible! These springs gave my C70 Coupe the ride, handling, and stance I've always wanted! The car now corners more aggressively and looks the part too. I paired these with my Koni adjustable struts and the combination is just perfect. Finally, a spring for those who want a noticeable drop, but don't want to sacrifice ride comfort. IPD did an A+ job with these!

Got these springs installed and saw a difference in car height immediately. Maybe a touch over 1.5 inches on all corners. No fender rub with stock tires and wheels but I am not sure with aftermarket wheels yet. The drive on these are better than the look!!!!! Car looks great and handles better. Feels solid and predictable. Really great product!!!!!! Thanks a million IPD !!!
