Shocks & Struts (Koni) Koni uses hydraulic technology for damping control where all of our other performance shocks use hydraulic and high pressure nitrogen gas. The effect of this in our opinion is that the Koni provides a plusher and softer ride while providing excellent control. Konis are firm, but they transition so smoothly the perception is that they are soft. Konis are also adjustable so that as they wear with age, you can adjust the damping control to compensate. Lifetime warranty. Additional Information: http://www.ipdusa.com/faq.asp?FAQ_ID=15 Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle. Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations. The products listed on our website are for Volvos sold in the North American market. I've installed these on the front of my 1998 V70R AWD. The ride was no different from stock on a soft setting, however turning the adjuster knobs about half way made a notable difference in firmness. Maximum firmness setting yields a hard ride, but not harsh... I keep them about half-way for regular driving which also seems to be more suitably matched to the rear nivos. One mistake though was not using IPD's HD strut mounts. I had instead used a pair of cheaply made urethane "HD replacement"- pure junk which only lasted 3 months. I have just ordered IPD's HD upper strut mounts and subsequently must redo it all over.
