Ball Joints & Control Arms On 1993-94 850s the ball joint is replaceable, however 1995 and later models require that the complete control arm be replaced if the ball joint is worn.
Inspect ball joints, tie rod ends and CV boots. Replace as needed. Symptoms include clunking and creaking during sharp turning such as when parallel parking.
Worn parts can also keep the car from being properly aligned, causing premature tire wear and, if left unattended, can lead to dangerous conditions.

Just as good as o.e.m. However the supplied bolts stripped at only 20lbs. Lucky I had saved the original parts. Other than that, great service from IPD.

These DO NOT FIT ALL 94 850 Volvos! My car is a 1994 850 Turbo, and I bought these, and they are not compatible. Please be careful, as the model year 1994 seems to have a phase in of both powertrain, and phase out of chassis based on date codes. My Volvo has an older 1993 style engine, with a different chassis with non-bolt in suspension arms.

Good product for the money, only problem was the bolt that slips through the ball joint groove stripped itself out with almost no effort. The bolt never even created resistance. OEM bolt worked well.

You get what you pay for. Within 6 months, these control arms are making popping sounds. And yes, I torqued with the control arm at operating position.

I can say that after comparing the price of this part with the price from the dealer, I am glad IPD offers these basic parts. I am not sure if the part was brand new or refurbished, but I can say after bushings look to be of a quality at least as good as the factory stock ones. And despite the discount price, new bolts that fit correctly are included.
ipd customer service response: It's a new aftermarket product. ipd sells very few refurbished products and they will indicate that in the description (i.e. brake calipers.)
