Volvo 850 » Upper Engine Stabilizer Mount

I installed this along with the "QBM Performance Firewall Mount". My firewall mount was totally shot (seperated) and my Upper Engine Stabilizer Mount was crumbling into powder. Wow, too much v-i-b-r-a-t-i-o-n and noise for us - the idle vibration was making things under the dash buzz and it felt like a tractor. I eventually replaced the Upper Engine Stabilizer Mount with the softer, Volvo OEM unit (easier and cheaper to replace than the firewall mount) and all is well.

I can't fault the part at all - it works as advertised, is very well designed/built and it is quite easy to replace with the instructions. I changed this part and the firewall mount in just under an hour.

My advice, change either the stabilizer mount or the firewall mount to the stiffer versions but not both at the same time unless you like the tractor feel/sound.

Quality materials, effective design, easy-to-follow installation instruction, and a great price! What more could you ask for in an upgrade?

I installed this last night to replace a stock Volvo part that was cracked and
disintegrated. Installation was a snap, although it did take a sawzall to get the old one
out. Acceleration is much smoother over the shot part that was in there (who would
have thought).

One thing to note: the car is rougher at idle than it was with a good stock part. The
material here is much stiffer and it transmits more engine vibration into the car than
the stock part does. If you're going for a stock feel I would get the OE part. At this
price I can stand a little more vibration at idle though.

Love the new mount. Car starts w/o shaking and driving is incredible smooth. Mine was shot so install took 2 hrs. but the mount install took 20 mins

Installed on my 1995 850 GLT 5-speed.
Had to replace the old mount because it had broken and fallen out! Engine feels like it has more power, a big difference from the old mount (and no mount at all!) Had a few problems getting the mount completely in, but once it got bolted on I had no problems. Love the color!!

Great part, and easy to install. Getting the old (OEM) one out is another story. Forget the idea you will hammer that thing out, you will have nothing but bruised knuckles. Quickest way is to go straight to the hacksaw. First, use a pair of side cutters to clip the center attach point, then take the hacksaw blade and cut in two places (not into the metal), near to top works best. Grab a big screwdriver, and hammer between the two cuts to relieve the interference fit. Did not see any great performance increase, but had lost of fun doing it.

Just installed this today on my 5-speed NA 850. engine is very solid, barely any movement and much more torque! It really growls in the low revs, and response has improved. haven't noticed any vibration, maybe it's more noticeable with the auto trans. The original mount popped out with lots of hammering, sawing, and PB blaster.

Not too hot on the color, wish it were more discreet.

Easy to install, and worth every penny. Yes, there will be a slight increase in NVH. That is part of the comprimise; either swap out OE rubber mounts once a year and have an interior free from engine NVH, or replace those mounts one time with poly mounts and deal with a little NVH in the interior. I'll take the latter option.

All I can say is wow. Get one. Now.

Easy to install only took about 15 mins with minor tools ( 2 wrenches,keyhole saw,flathead and hammer) repaced my oem bushing on my 850 which was shot.I would definently recommend this to anyone due to the quality of this product and the easy installation
