Volvo 850 » QBM Performance Lower Transmission Mount
The factory bushings in the stock lower torque (transmission) mount are very soft and compliant rubber. The lower torque mount is subjected to tremendous radial (push/pull) forces every time the transmission shifts gears. As a result, the bushings deteriorate and eventually tear, due to this stress as well as exposure to engine heat and road chemicals. As the mount gets worse, unwanted engine and transmission movement translate to poor shifting performance (especially on manual cars), odd clunks, and accelerated wear on other mounts. If your car has more than 50k miles or is more than five years old, you should consider replacing the stock mount. Even if your car is not modified, this mount will wear - especially on turbo models and modified vehicles which put additional stress on the mount.
The QBM performance lower torque (transmission) mount is a brand new complete mount, reinforced with 97 Shore A durometer polyurethane. It will outlast and outperform the stock mount due to its reinforced design, and is a must on turbo models, modified vehicles, and manual transmission conversions. Easy to install using basic hand tools, and installation takes about 20 minutes.
Upgrading this mount on P2 cars is crucial. We discovered that this mount wears up to five times faster thanks to the Neutral Shift feature that is standard on ALL automatic equipped vehicles! The Neutral Shift feature shifts the car from drive to neutral and back to drive again every time the vehicle comes to a stop, regardless of what gear is selected with the shifter! This feature has proved so unpopular that Volvo is removing the feature as part of a ECM/TCM software update. We've seen cars just one year old with a completely torn lower torque mount! If your P2 car is suffering from jerky shifting, poor idle, clunks or other noises it is very likely this mount is the culprit.

Mount was a breeze to install thanks to great ipd instructions, was happy to have the torque specs listed on the instructions as well. My '02 V70 XC shifts much more smoothly now, feels like it may also have a little more pull away from a dead stop. I have noticed increased vibration at idle, more so when the car is cold, but the vibration is a small price to pay given the much improved shift feel my car has gained. Great part!

MY02 S60: Fitted this mount in all of 10 minutes, extremely simple even for a novice. With 110k (kms) on the clock the old mount was completely shot. Now the transmission is smoother, quieter and free of annoying clunks. Absolutely brilliant!!

03 V70 Manual 40,000 miles. Began to feel slop in shifting and sometimes a clicking when comming off the throttle. Found this part, read the review and figured - what do I have to loose? Took all of 15 minutes to install and what a difference. Tight, Crisp and Quiet. Could not believe the slop in the original part when I removed it. I cannot recommend it enough and IPD folks were very informative and helpful. They really cared.
