Oxygen Sensors Most often the fault given from the on board diagnostic system is a fault with the oxygen sensor. It is important that the proper fuel mixture is maintained for optimum fuel efficiency. Be sure there are no other faults before replacing just the oxygen sensor. These are Bosch oxygen sensors for original equipment fit and function. Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle. Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations. The products listed on our website are for Volvos sold in the North American market. Many of the parts are exactly the same as those used in other markets, however we cannot guarantee fitment for those markets.

Just as with the front O2 sensor (15097), this too is a direct replacement part. No modifications to vehicle or sensor were required. Even the plastic retainers that are used are hold the original O2 sensor wire in place are included (and attached in the proper location) on the sensor wire housing. Additionally, the cable is marked with tape at every point where a vehicle attachment clip is located. No guess-work is required here.
Just as with the front sensor, I recommend doing the installation completely from underneath.
Also, note that there is a red "release cap" that must be pulled out (i.e. up) from the connector housing in order to allow the two connector ends to be detached from one another. Once the red cap is pulled out, the "engine side" connector can be detached. Then the O2 sensor connector can be detached from the bracket attached to the vehicle by depressing a small tab towards the connector body and sliding the connector up towards the motor. Once the connector is released, simply detach the cable housing all the way back to the sensor. (Note: this assumes the protective plate has already been removed exposing the sensor.)

Just installed this O2 sensor on my 94 Volvo 850 Turbo. This is absolutely a direct replacement part - wire lengths, connectors, etc. No modifications are required at all.
Two notes for those doing the install yourselves:
1) definitely do this entirely from the underneath side - hand space is very limited but you can reach the electrical connectors without having to remove any other parts
2) a "release cap" must be pulled out in order to allow the two connector ends to be detached from one another. Interestingly, it is the O2 sensor connector that is snapped onto the bracket attached to the car instead of the "engine-side" connector. To release this, there is a small tab to depress from the back side (wire side of the connector) towards the connector body and then slide the connector up towards motor to detach it thus allowing the sensor to then be removed from the cat down pipe.
