PBR Brake Pads PBR® Deluxe Organic Brake Pads
If you have primarily used Volvo factory brake pads on your Volvos, then you will really appreciate the PBR Deluxe brake pads. PBR® Metal Master Semi-Metallic Pads
Metal Master semi-metallic brake pads excel in high-performance, high-speed, and high-heat circumstances (including stop-and-go traffic). They have a much higher resistance to heat than standard organic pads and offer a more aggressive bite and firmer brake feel. Plus, depending on your driving style, the life expectancy of Metal Master pads exceeds other conventional semi-metallic pads by 200 to 500 percent. Similar to the Deluxe pads, brake dust is significantly reduced over other semi-metallic pads. Containing no asbestos, Metal Master pads provide excellent stopping power under all driving conditions, wet or dry. Good for the occasional autocross or track day, but not a true race pad. 40,000 mile warranty.

hi there i bought the pads in the green box have had them on the car for a year now have no problem but it time to get news ones and im getting the ones by ipd and i have bought a lot stuff from this com. and have had good with all of it

Was expecting the better feel and performance over the stock pads but the lack of brake dust blew me away! The fronts (paired with new Power Slots) now generate noticeably less dust than the rears on my 850R.

Heads UP - a good front end alignment shop I have been going to for years has
given a clue on squealing brakes . . . He showed me many new pads that have
a beveled edge on them - come that way from manufacturer. (U.S.A. MADE)
He said, they have found (on brakes that are not already beveled) that by filing the edges about 30-40 degrees slightly, you will often eliminate the squeal-rub that produces the sound. Try it - you might just find it works. I found it did.

Thank God I bought this.... Without this hex tool I wouldn't have been able to change the brake pads & routers on my 2001 Volvo S60. So If you have a 2001 S60, make sure you make this low cost investment which is worth gold!

Not needed for my 2005 S40 FWD w/ 300mm rotors.

So as everything in life, opinions vary but I found PBR pads are one of the best additions to your car. They have good initial bite and exceptional life and I have very little dust. Pads were installed on new rotors and when rotors were used up and replaced the same pads were used after sanding them smooth again (not recommended).
The S40 eats rear pads and the PBR organics will be the replacement.

That's because it's for S70/V70 1998-2000, not your 04.
I used it to do mine today, it works perfectly fine and was definitely neccesary to remove the guide pins to remove the pads in the front calipers.

this tool is not necessary for an 04 s60r. i ordered it after seeing in the description "for front and all wheel drive volvos" and am dissapointed that it was not needed.
ipd customer service response: The "R" models have Brembo calipers and are the only exception to the application. Brembos have punch out pins, all other models require this socket to remove the bolts. We will fix our product description to exclude "R" models.
