This part was an easy fix. It's great to have 4th gear now.

The gasket is a bit wimpy for the price tag.

Perfect problem solver. I had replaced the wiring from the relay to the transmission, and the relay itself about three months ago, then the solenoid went, and then I purchased this. Works as it should, and it really eases the mind, never having to worry about over drive problems again!

Well I was a bit skeptic at first, even when i got it the mail i wasn't so sure. it took about a half an hour of work and then took my volvo 740 Turbo for a drive. Before the selenoid was replaced my rpm were way too high 3500 rpm while doing 65 mph on the freeway, now after the OD bypass kit was installed the rpm have dropped to about 2600 again while doing about 65 mph, just about what it should be .. i am very happy with this purchase.

Excellent problem solver. Got tired of replacing burned up relays. This was the solution. Thanks IPD.

(Note to others, a previous poster mentioned disconnecting wires at the tranny. Don't know what he did, but removing the solenoid and installing this part is all you have to do so the only wires you would disconnect would be the wires to the solenoid itself, hope that helps.

This is the best product I have ever seen to solve a very common problem. I am not sure why the factory put such a problematic system in place on an otherwise bullet-proof car, but I think this fix is just fantastic. It works great, and is inexpensive. Highly recommended.

works great! But add these items to the installation instructions please. 1. First blow out all of the crud from around the solenoid before remooving it. Crud goes everywhere while working in this area. especially if the rubber around the solonoid is toaste.
2. regular box end 12 mm wrench is almost impossible to use due to clearance issues and there a socket is no better. you need a better tool to do this job in less than 30 minutes.
3. don't forget to unplug the wiring at the other end of the tranny--or the upgrade will not work.

aside from these issues i think this is a great easy fix!

I had problems with my overdrive not engaging and was able to fix it using this part. This thing really works! And it's much cheaper and easier then installing a new solenoid. IPD really came through for me.

Easy simple instructions, Easy to install. Works just like it should. The supplied O-ring was kinda thin but it's not leaking. At least not yet I'll keep an eye on it. Very good product.
