Bushing Kits Rear

If your Volvo doesn't track straight down the road and you've had difficulty getting the front end properly aligned, the suspension bushings may be worn or broken. Clunking sounds when driving on rough or graveled roads, or squeaking noises over railroad tracks or intersections are also key indicators of bushing problems.

If you're unfamiliar with how your Volvo's suspension works, give us a call as our staff is well trained in diagnosing Volvo suspension problems and we'll be glad to steer you in the right direction.

And when you buy ipd bushing kits, you'll save money over the single bushing price. Each kit includes top quality bushings appropriate for your model. ipd recommends professional installation.

Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle.
Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations.

We offer some products with multiple brand options. Products ending with an "E" suffix indicate Economy (non-OE) brands.

I've done 4 sets of these poly bushings on various 240's that I've owned, and two sets on other people's cars. I can't imagine being able to do this job in the 4 to 5 hr. time estimate, but maybe a lift would help a lot. I sure do like the results when it is all done and tightened up! They take what is at least a 16 year old car and restore a nice, positive feel to the driving experience. People intersted in retaining the factory feel of their Volvo should probably stick with the rubber bushings, as the poly kit does transmit more noise, vibration, and harshness.

I have been looking forward to having poly bushings in my 1990 240, but dreading doing it. I finally got around to doing it. It took 4 hours a day, spread over 4 days. I had to use all of the tools that I have acquired to complete this job, including a 12 ton hydraulic press, a 5 inch bench vice, a sabre saw and 5 cobalt blades, air tools and about two dozen rubber gloves. My car is a rust free Texas car, but it was still difficult to remove the old bushings. I was able to press out only two original bushings with my press, and I had to result to pushing out the old rubber and then cutting out the rest of the steel bushing with my sabre saw. With 250K miles, all of the original bushings EXCEPT the two bushings mounted in the lower control arm had failed. My car drives like it is brand new again. I am really happy with this product, but be sure to set aside plenty of time and think through each step. I think this job could have been done in about 10 hours straight, or about 1 hour per bushing, but even with air tools, many bolts still had to be removed with hand tools due to the tight spaces involved.

Huge improvement in handling, though certainly more road "feel" and vibrations--OK for the enthusiast, but I suspect non-enthusiasts might have issues. Must be a lot easier to install than the urethane, but I think the 4-5 hour estimate is grossly optimistic. Even having just done it (and on a nearly rust-free car), and with the IPD tool and a hydraulic press, I can't imagine doing it that quickly. (Actually, the press was pretty much useless--I had to resort to burning and hacksawing/chiseling out the old ones.)
