The outside door handle takes a lot of abuse over the years. Especially the driver's side. The handles are known to fail in a couple of different ways. One failure is that the rivet pin on one side falls out and this can be repaired with a small machine screw. A more terminal failure is when the casting breaks and the whole handle will need to be replaced.
