Volvo 200 » Fuel Pumps
A fuel pump either works or it doesn’t. Be sure to fault check the wires and the relay before replacing it. A repair to the power source is far less expensive than replacing a misdiagnosed fuel pump. These pumps are the same original Bosch pumps that will last as long as the original. Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle. Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations.

This review is for "61468 Main Fuel Pump 1982-93 200 series, LH Jetronic". ----------------------------------- ***THIS PUMP INCLUDES A PRE-INSTALLED CHECK VALVE. IF YOU'RE BUYING THIS PUMP, YOU DON'T NEED ITEM 1326899 (FUEL PUMP CHECK VALVE)***
Funny that IPD doesn't mention anywhere in the product description that this is a Bosch (OEM) pump. You would think they would crow about it. Good price, too. After 20 years of faithful service from the original, still-working fuel pump, I replaced it when my pre-pump went bad as preventative maintenance. (I plan to carry some working pulls in the car as backups once the gasoline smell goes away). I remember this pump being slightly longer than the original pump when I compared them at the mechanic's, but I don't know why. Anyway: good pump, good price, good store.

My car started cutting out on the road intermittently. It wouldn't start for several minutes, then would start up again like nothing had happened, and drive some time and do it again. It was like the return of the nightmare when my fuel pump relay went bad at 18 years old (I now carry a spare in my glove box). But it wasn't the relay again; I suspected it was the pre-pump and this was confirmed, as I managed to get to a gas station, and noticed that if I kept the fuel tank topped up, I didn't stall out. The sock had partially ripped from the pre-pump, pump also dead. My 3" fuel hose was good, but I hear they can fall apart with age so I replaced it too. Everything else looked very good, and I ended up not really needing some parts I'd ordered like the sender O-Ring seal-949276, hose clamps-21017, and coarse nut-1266390, though I used them anyway and it's comforting IPD sells them. The Bentley manual says to 'listen' for the pre-pump to tell if it's dead. I'd never noticed it before, but once it was replaced, I heard it. It's an electro-mechanical sound, kind of a buzzing or a mid-range drone. Get the "bung nut" sender removal tool, too: T5169, even if you have a mechanic, esp if he's not Volvo-specialized. It may prevent him from damaging your sender opening to the point it might not be openable again.

top quality Bosch fuel pump and it was cheap at 140.00 cause when i took my car to the repair shop he told me this pump would cost me 275.00 I was like what are you Nuts?so i promptly came home and ordered the pump from IPD and when i got the pump and had the shop put it on the owner of the shop kept asking me repeatedly where did you get this pump from? how did you get it so cheap. i was like I am not gonna tell ya cause i Know you would probably buy all of their pumps and sell them for 275.00 each. anyways my car runs fantastically with the new pump my car would kind of hesitate when accelerating with the a/c on and going up hills like it was starving for fuel.but not anymore make sure you change the fuel filter also for optimum efficiency in power and mileage very happy and satisfied and very glad that IPD is around and allways has Killer prices.
