Volvo 200 » Fuel Pump Check Valve

I bought one of these when I did preventive maintenance swapping out my main fuel pump and other fuel delivery parts from IPD at 20yrs/~300,000 miles. My mechanic said that the check valve wasn't needed, since the new (Bosch) fuel pump had one already installed on it, and he showed me. I called IPD to confirm this, and they agreed that it's normal for new Bosch fuel pumps to have the check valve. They should probably mention this in the pump's description and/or on this page, but since they haven't, I am. So if you're ordering a new main fuel pump (Bosch 61468 Main Fuel Pump 1982-93 LH Jetronic, 200 series), you don't need this.
