Volvo 200 » Fuel Pressure Regulator

The pressure regulator controls the fuel system pressure to the injectors. It is controlled by a vacuum line to the intake manifold. When the regulator is operating correctly it will maintain some residual pressure in the fuel system when the engine is shut off. When the engine is running it will modify the fuel pressure to ensure proper fuel/air ratio is maintained regardless of throttle position.
