This job was intimidating until I looked at a Volvo service manual for my '89 240 and realized that the pipe from this switch is merely a thermocouple that is clamped to a copper pipe leading to the A/C evaporator unit under the dash. It took only an hour to replace and the compressor immediately fired up! Don't forget to buy new insulating material to recover the area where the thermocouple attaches to the evaporator pipe. BTW this part was $30 less than what a local Volvo Dealer was charging.
